2013 Christmas Tree Challenge
In 2012 we raised over £600 for the Isle of Wight Special Olympics team – it’s enough money to pay for a team member to attend the 2013 National Games in Bath.
We raised this money by trying to climb a Vertical Marathon – it was the year of London 2012 after all!
Well, we had loads of fun and climbed 33.01km – but we didn’t climb a marathon! Onwards and upwards – we’re climbing again and asking everyone who takes part to donate to our charity of 2013 – the IOW Christmas Toy Appeal.
We’re calling our marathon The 2013 Christmas Tree Challenge and we hope that everyone will join in the fun, see if they can win a medal and help IOW children living in poverty at Christmas time.
We know Christmas is a long time away; we chose the IOW Christmas Toy Appeal as we meet lots of lucky young people who are able to come tree climbing and we wanted to give something to local children who aren’t so fortunate.
We hope as many people as possible will come along, climb our ‘Christmas’ tree and help IOW children.
